Overview

The new Microsoft 365 Copilot experience works alongside you, embedded in the apps you use every day—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and more. It combines the power of language models with your business data and context—including all your Microsoft 365 apps, documents, and conversations.

Word: Create impressive documents and improve your writing with built-in intelligent features. 

Excel: Simplify complex data and create easy-to-read spreadsheets. 

Powerpoint: Easily create polished presentations that stand out. 

Teams: Bring everyone together in one place to meet, chat, call, and collaborate. 

Outlook: Manage your email, calendar, tasks, and contacts together in one place. 

Technical Requirements for Implementing CoPilot:

  • Enterprise customers: Microsoft 365 E3 or E5
  • Azure Active Directory account (Entra ID)
  • Some features (file restore, management, etc.) require a OneDrive account
  • WebSockets (wws://) allowed to endpoints in ID #46 in the section for Microsoft 365 Common and Office Online
  • Word, Excel, and PowerPoint: available in web versions and in Desktop
  • Outlook: Users need to be using the new Outlook for Windows or MacOS
  • Teams: Users must be using Teams desktop or the web app. Both current and new verions of Teams supported.
  • Loop: Tenants must have Loop enabled. 
  • Cross-app experience depends on the indexed data; tenants iwth teh richest data get the best results.
