Brief Bank

Similar to a knowledge bank or clause bank, a brief bank is an easily searchable repository of litigation documents used as models and samples, often referred to as precedent material. Document management systems can become cluttered with multiple drafts of pre-filed documents, and without rigorous, consistent tagging of final filed versions, it can be difficult to locate the right precedent unless effort has been taken to collect and store them separately. Some solutions connect directly into a firm's court dockets to automatically build a secondary, curated repository of only final filed documents, distinct from the broader document management system, that can be designated and searched as precedent material.
