“People, process, and technology . . . in that order.” If you’ve been in the world of legal technology and innovation, you’ve undoubtedly heard this phrase many times. It’s become a maxim, a mantra, an accepted truth that’s invoked like an incantation. One of my favorite innovation techniques is to re-examine, interrogate, and challenge assumptions, especially ones that feel comfortable. Is it really true or, if it once was, is it still? Often, valuable insights arise from this process, especially if you simply reverse or inverse the core of the assumption.
